The galactomannan soluble fibre and amino acid 4-hydroxyisoleucine in fenugreek seed give it a real, moderate glucose-lowering effect — best as an adjunct to, not a replacement for, diabetes care. Because it can stimulate the uterus, avoid medicinal doses in pregnancy.
